French network of Quantum Houses
25 Oct, 2024Following a call for projects launched on June 5, 2024, GENCI and the CEA have selected five projects to host the antennas of a french network of Quantum Houses.
The creation of these Quantum Houses, supported by the France Hybrid HPC Quantum Initiative (HQI) program of the national strategy for quantum technologies of France 2030, is part of an objective of dissemination and support to the communities of users of hybrid quantum computing.
These projects are located in by regional ecosystems:
- Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (Grenoble)
- Grand Est (Strasbourg, Reims and Troyes)
- Île-de-France (Paris, Saclay and Saint-Germain-en-Laye)
- New Aquitaine (Bordeaux and Limoges)
- Occitanie (Montpellier and Toulouse)
PCQT is part of The Quantum House of Paris region (Paris, Saclay and Saint-Germain-en-Laye)
Around CEA-List (pilot), the associations Le Lab Quantique and Teratec, and the Systematic Paris-Region cluster, the consortium federates regional quantum research ecosystems (PCQT, Quantum-Saclay, QuanTiP, iXCampus, Sorbonne Université) and regional planning stakeholders (Paris-Saclay EPA, Kadans Science Partners) with the support of the Paris Region.
In particular, the initiative proposes a support for industrial players in the setting up of candidate projects for the Quantum Pack of the Paris Region, as well as a reception of communities interested in quantum computing on two key poles: Station F in Paris and the MIX in Paris-Saclay.
The Quantum House will also benefit from the infrastructure of the « Cité de l’innovation »
Sorbonne University and iXcampus in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, to host major events.
The french network of Quantum Houses is inspired by other initiatives carried out in Delft, the Netherlands, but also in the Innovation Zone in Sherbrooke, Quebec. The connection of these networks should make it possible to see the emergence of particularly innovative and attractive collaborative projects for communities related to hybrid quantum computing, whether they are users or providers of these technologies.
