The CASCADE project team studies a very broad spectrum of cryptography: the construction of primitives and cryptographic protocols, with their security analysis, and if necessary the attack, both at the mathematical and algorithmic levels, as well as at the level of actual implementation, by exploiting implementation flaws or information leaks related to hardware.

Design and grow rare earth doped crystals to control optical and spin non-classical states. These materials, produced in the form of bulk and nanostructured single crystals, show extremely long-lived quantum states at low temperature. This unique property in the solid state enables to address a broad range of applications, from quantum information processing and communication, to spectral analysis and medical imaging.
